Jonathan Fernandes is an architectural designer based in Brooklyn, New York. Over the past decade, he has worked on homes, retail, and public spaces in New York and Sydney, with Leroy Street Studio, ALAO and PopovBass, alongside his own independent work.
His approach to architecture is grounded in an interest in materiality, craft, and the process of making. He is drawn to the relationship between a building’s conception and its construction, and to the ways thoughtful detailing, material choices, and new building methods can shape the spaces we inhabit.
Alongside his architectural work, he is interested in the evolving relationship between architecture and technology, from prefabrication to emerging AI tools.
Outside of architecture, he enjoys biking, photography, tinkering, and making things.
